Default rolling roads and set up of a erst whats involved?

i have been told the car needs 'setting up' as its running a bit rough and the boost is not being held.
Its a erst and its standard and i am going to fit a turbo unit and a -31 actuator at christmas.
My main question is what do they do at the rolling road and set up and what sort of prices am i looking to be charged, i'll probably head to nobles in chesterfield.
thanks in advance

I just had mine on the rollers.

Sorted it right out. Adjusted it to what it should be doing and when it should be doing it. Mine used to run rough but now it's smoother even with No.4 piston shagged.

I was charged £60 an hour.

I take mine to Power engineering every 6 months, one full service and twice to be set up. I change the oil every 3000 miles myself anyway but the mechanice there said it doesnt necessarily need setting up after every oil change.

I couldnt tell you exactly what they do but an definately recommend having it done! If your car is running a bit rough, they can tell you why and more often than not sort it out there and then!

I think it costs £160 inc VAT at PE, which sounds expensive but the car runs a million times better when it leaves, and you also have peace of mind that everything is as it should be.

One thing I would say though, is make sure you go with plenty of fuel, plenty of decent oil, etc. Oh yer, and I dont know if this has ever happened to anyone else but I find its a good idea to run the car around the block once its been set up, drive back to the garage, pull up and turn it off for ten minutes or so. The reason for this is to make sure the car is holding its new settings. I left before and the air/fule ratio went straight out the window when I got home and it seemed worse than when I went!

Hope this helps mate!

Nobles is a top place. Darren at Nobles sorted my S1 out and now it goes back for a set-up and power run once a year.

Just give it a service before hand, and stand there and watch em thrash it on the rollers and brick it.

Getting the car set up on a rolling road is the best tune it will ever get, they can diagnose any problems at idle or flat out.

Hello people!
T28 man, I love your car!!! I loved to read tha feature in performance ford! You see, I'm from Portugal ( a little country in western europe), so it's very hard for me to see a simple standart S2 RsTurbo which isn't my one! i think that I'm doing the first ever tuned portuguese RsTurbo! For you to have a idea on how rare RsTurbos are in my country, in all my life I've seen only 3 series 1 RsTurbos!!! And cossies, are even rarer!!
But I stiil have internet and british magazines...
