Default please please please help me with rising revs

hi guys, i have had a good look on this forum but cant seem to find what im looking for......

when i start my car from cold she ticks over fine , then as she gets warmer the revs seems to rise , after 5 miles of driving the revs are sitting at over 3000 . its annoying the whole street and me also. if i turn the car off at this piont it wont start again for at least an hour , sometimes it will start right away sometimes it wont .

it seems to get worse when the engines warmer . and sometimes the btrake pedal goes rock solid. always when the revs are high .

please help me people , i dont know what to do, i can only say that i ''think'' it might be a split pipe somewhere ???

mucho thanky in advance. PS . WOULD A DEAD BATTERY MAKE IT DO THIS ??

Might be something wrong with your vacuum (brake master cilinder??), because you say the brake pedal is getting rock hard.

I would check all the vacuum lines first if 1 of them is torn or damaged in another way.

By the way that is a great van you own

Cheers.

well the cars now off the road i will report what it was when its fixed , i cant drive it n`more

edit edit:: ive been messing about with all the plugs and so on, i got a new battery too, seems to be ''ok'' for the time being , i let her run until the fans came on , then she started ok and the revs are fine and tickovers back to normal, even when hot and after a blast

lets wait and see ..........

sounds like the vacumn pipe that goes from the brake servo to your inlet manifold. might be split or loose.

its not that , i checked it , i think it could be servo master cylinder related , but then having said that when i started her up this morn as soon as i tiokk off the cold start plug it was fine, plug it back in and went loopy again, ill sort it eventually......
