Hi guys

Done plenty searching on this. It’s great how many years you can go back on this forum! However, can’t find an answer to my problem.

Fuel pump doesn’t prime on ignition, nor does it kick in when the starter is turning.

Bridge the pins on the relay, or open the relay and manually operate the relay and the car fires and runs without issue.

Pump replaced
Fuel filter is new
Relay is new and a genuine Ford part

I can only think that whatever is telling the relay the ignition is on isn’t doing so as everything else is working? Could be wrong but I’m thinking this is the green and red wire in the centre of the relay on pin 1 however I’ve no idea where this goes to.

any advice much appreciated!

Turns out pins 15 and 31 needed swapped. Priming and firing perfect now!!

 

And meant to say, been reading loads of OAP Pete’s posts/replies the past fortnight while I’ve been trying to work this out. His knowledge is unbelievable.

 

Good you got it sorted....im 82 now....yes the "green & red" is " 1 " on the relay and comes from ignition coil pulse and rev- counter.......Pete
