Steering Column

Can anyone give me any idea how much of a job is it to replace the internal shaft on the column? the bit that the wheel nut screws too?
Reason for changing is some muppet has cross threaded it at some time making it unable to tighten up as it should.

How bad is it?

coult you get a thread repair on it.

done this on a wheel stud and worked a treat

don't think so 1 side completely flat no thread left. I got spare shaft at home.

unbolt the steering column from the rack
remove the shroud and switches etc..
undo the 2 bolts on the lower steering column
undo the 2 upper bolts on the steering column

Cheers will have a look at doing over xmas holiday i think.
