Default Heavy steering

hi all

ive replaced my top mount bearings, lower arms, steering rack and my steering is still pretty heavy

can anyone point me in the direction of what steps to follow

Isnt there a bearing in the steering column?
Other than that maybe get the front wheel alignment checked?

have you checked you steering joint that connect to you rack it might be seized

my steering was quite heavy on my rs turbo but it felt a lot lighter after fitting some toyo proxes but i would also check the uj as if thats siezed it will be heavy

Most likely the crappy plastic sleeve in the steering column thats decided its had enough

As above... Changed this on afew mk4 escorts/orions and it makes the steering loads lighter again!

i had one with a worn diff and made mine very heavy

things to look into...
tyres
alignment
how low is it? ect
steering uj
coloum

have you tried jacking the car up and seeing if the steering spins freely in the air?
