hi all

ive replaced my top mount bearings, lower arms, steering rack and my steering is still pretty heavy

can anyone point me in the direction of what steps to follow

Isnt there a bearing in the steering column?
Other than that maybe get the front wheel alignment checked?

 

alignment is checked mate

 

have you checked you steering joint that connect to you rack it might be seized

 

my steering was quite heavy on my rs turbo but it felt a lot lighter after fitting some toyo proxes but i would also check the uj as if thats siezed it will be heavy

 

can it be seized even if it still moves?

 

Most likely the crappy plastic sleeve in the steering column thats decided its had enough

As above... Changed this on afew mk4 escorts/orions and it makes the steering loads lighter again!

 

so is the kit thats listed above on ebay the kit to get?

have you tried jacking the car up and seeing if the steering spins freely in the air?

 

ive not jacked it up to check yet, could that make a difference? worn diff?

 

could be a whole host of things mate....

i will get them suspension bushes out later too mate
