Stupid question could I used this to hold a inlet manifold stud in that has stripped two bits of thread out rather than helicoil it?

you will be far better off mate using chemical weld once that sets you will never move it

Do it once, do it properly imo. You'll never get the torque on the stud araldited.

I used jb weld and it's done the trick nice one guys

Me too car had been off the road for 4 wks pissing me right off just got to put it all back together tomorrow if the weather holds out
