not had them for a while but I used to run 195/45/16 up front and 205/40/16 on the back, were talking 10 years ago and I liked p zero and avon but I guess they are out dated now

205/40 front
215/40 rear

shouldnt use anything less than 205 on 16's for decent handling.

Says who? The Fiesta ST was sold with 195/45R16 in most countries, the quality of its suspension and wheel combination should be unquestioned.

And only pretending 205 and 16" won't work is nonsense. There are many more details to look at like the height of the tyres and the width of the wheels!?

And after all, standard wheel dimension for the RSTs was 195/50R15, so what's wrong with using 195/45R16?

Had Pirelli PZero Nero in this dimension on my ST as factory standard tyres, they were great.

Conti PremiumContact2 or SportContact3 might also be worth considering.

With my Fiesta RS Turbo, I run 195/40R16s on my 8 x 16 OZ Mags and although I haven't drove it in nearly a year...I recall it driving like an utter bundle of shite.

But its the wheel I want on my car and the tyres suit the height I want to have my car at.

But 195/45s are a happy medium for an rs turbo (fiesta or escort) imo

17in wheels are ok with 205 as long as they are not over 7.5j wide.
The best setup for 17's are 215. To be totally honest 17in wheels are a tad too big on an mk3/4 to allow for decent amount of Handling body roll and height of the car.

id love to use 17in wheels but it compromises too much id much rather have the handling.

Don't forget these are all road going sizes. All changes again when talking radial slicks.

Slicks in a 16 you should be looking at 190 580 16

Trying to find a supplier for a decent size in crazy. Very limited and not a lot of people carry them so there is a wait

Yes that's a good size for a fwd with 16in slicks.

Like I said above somewhere I had 210 610 but really needs 230 610 at least on the back of my rwd mk4. That will require wide arch mods I don't really want to do. However function has to come before form on a track car.
