It all adds up.
Yeah that makes more sense lol.

A lot of the little bits soon add up too, once you get stuck into it, things like gaskets clamps, aux belt, plugs, filters, etc etc etc

Realstically id be happy with 200-220 bhp so nothing big, more so just want a reliable engine, whats not going to cost me a bomb to build,
Quick question slighlty of topic, took the head. My cvh last night and poured oil into the bores to see if my rings have gone, how long do i give it before i say wether or not they gone? Cheers bill
Then a build like Wayne's would be perfect for you, would just need a slightly bigger turbo to make the extra few BHP you'd like.
Wayne's parts/engineering bill is currently around £1000 including the management he bought when it was still CVH and there's still some things I need to order once the engine is in and I can measure up (hoses etc.)

Devil developments do some really good springs for £150 Ono on ebay (£100 cheaper than blacktops)

Or ...... Go same route as karlos as these are the cheapest routes that actually work and will give you scope for reliability and future mods, especially if your fitting an aftermarket management
Thing is Mark pistons, re-bore, ARP bolts, and rods machining adds around another £300 to the bill and for 200-220bhp none of that is needed.

Haha for 200bhp lol

I said on the other thread I want to build a fully forged motor for later and use what I got untill then

I was thinking full st170
Forged pistons with around 9-0-1 (for reponse and VVT)
Steel rods
Devil developments springs
Frs gaskets and plugs
Fully lightened and balanced
My gotech pro to activate VVT
And gt28
Mtx

But there's seems there's missed reviews on using the st170 head

I've had a st170 turbo and never had warped head issues, Ricks st170 hasn't had any eather. That said I would rather a blacktop anyday
