It was solid underneath! all that was wrong was the bad paint job. The car that bought it knew his stuff and give it a good going over, he's making it a track toy rear engined 2.1 pinto race engine rwd.

something is wrrong with how you changed it,
if you put it to the way i told you it would have been fine,
sounds to be over boosting what psi is it?

12psi BEFORE YOU MESED ABOUT WITH THE PIPES or after?

the map sensor reads pressure so linking a dump valve will falsify the reading the map sensor reads which is why most people link the map sensor on its own feed ofab i found isnt an ideal system

Could the dump valve be at fault with the cutting out issue?
Just used carb cleaner over the intake system etc with no apparent leaks.

That would kill it matey. It'd be running on turbo management, over fuel and be a dog to drive. Engine damage will occur

Hi guys sorry to post on this thread but I'm new to the site. I bought this car last week. I've replaced all the vacuum hoses and boost hoses! There was a semi broken wire on the fule pump wires on top of the tank which was probbo the problem with it randomly cutting out! There was 5 different types of vac pipe for the boost gauge going big diameter to small to big so on do fourth. Same story everywhere really! I've heat wrapped the down pipe too so it starts when hot. Took me 3 hours in total and cosy me about 30 quid and I can now say she runs fine with no issues what so ever and all the vac pipes are the same diameter and all blue so looks alot better too. No lag no cutting out and starts when hot. I read this thread and well now it's running sweet as a nut well for now so thanks fellas

Yeh I know every one was saying I will upload some pics tommor and let you guys decide. With any luck it's going to msd a week on Monday for a love map. I can hostly say it's very quick and I built a 320bhp 20v turbo golf and did a 13.8 second 1/4 mile but this feels like it can go quicker. Today I've put a new induction kit on so it gets cold air instead of it being ontop of the gear box. I've took the grills off and n/s fog light for direct cold air feed and wowsers stroll on msd rr day I will upload pics of the engine bay hopfully you lads/gals will like cheers to you all
