Default Zetec water pump impeller

Hi does anyone know where I can get a reverse water pump impeller or complete pump for a blacktop 2.0 zetec? I've got a idler pulley setup at the moment but changing it so need a reverse pump. Cheers.

Alex.

Yeah I saw that I've messaged him but no reply so maybe it's no longer for sale.

Anyone know where I can get one of these?

the 1.8 zetec and 2.0l zetec water pumps turn in opposite directions. I drilled out the shaft from a 2.0l and fitted it to a 1.8 pump. (or visa versa)

the correct way depends on what belt set up you are using. serpentine as a posed to triangle.

I'm using a Black Top with a Silver Top water pump to avoid using the extra idler pulley.

Unless I am mistaken you have a silver-top there, with the aluminium camshaft cover.

Escort and Fiesta silvertops share the same type, correct for rotating the same way as the engine. Mondeo silvertops pump rotates the wrong way but can be swapped for a Escort/Fiesta type. Blacktops (fiesta, with plastic cover, and duratech branded st170 engines) have only one pump type, which needs an idler, or the impeller (and pulley) changing.

Interesting. Have you done this? If this is the case I'm'm surprised the likes of IK engineering have 'tooled up' to make there own reverse direction impeller.

Thanks, but as this is my engine I happen to know what it is and as I say, it's a Black Top machined to fit a Silver Top water pump and cambelt kit to avoid using an extra pulley.

And with regards to pulley - yes. But it doesn't spin it the right way round still for the reasons you yourself described above, so we machined the block for the Silver Top set up instead. If I was running a lower spec/less expensive engine I would just use it like that anyway as I've heard of people doing this with no issues.

Ah right, the block machines out ok for that does it? Nothing something I am planning but fair enough! Explanes how you are able to get the silvertop pump to fit into it anyway.

Whats going on with the rocker cover, are those 'struts' welded to it? Presumably thats also a silvertop cover further adding to the confusion?

I guess your right, I had forgotten about the two center cover bolts, but it is an ali cover not a plastic blacktop one.

Either way, certainly sounds like XRT_si knows what he is talking about which is a good thing given the size of that blower!

The turbo isn't actually that big, it's 'only' a GT30.71 but the manifold makes it sit very prominently. She's up and running now anyway
