Unless I am mistaken you have a silver-top there, with the aluminium camshaft cover.

Escort and Fiesta silvertops share the same type, correct for rotating the same way as the engine. Mondeo silvertops pump rotates the wrong way but can be swapped for a Escort/Fiesta type. Blacktops (fiesta, with plastic cover, and duratech branded st170 engines) have only one pump type, which needs an idler, or the impeller (and pulley) changing.

Interesting. Have you done this? If this is the case I'm'm surprised the likes of IK engineering have 'tooled up' to make there own reverse direction impeller.
