Default 2 questions Engine paint and coolant type

He guys,

I have two small questions

1. what coolant do you guys use. I thought i could use all a few years ago, but in the meanwhile i know that there really are differences between them. What is recommended by Ford and what do you use?

2. If you refurbished your engine what paint did you use?

My engine looked like this till it had some miles on it and lots of the paint was comming off

I used MOTIP cans with heat resistant few layers and heat resistant clear varnish after it. Also used it on the turbo, but it deff can't stand the heat.

What did you guys use and how does it look now?

I have my engine out again and want to make it shine like the sun again!

Just hamirrite with a brush? It stays on well and is fine with the high temperatures?

Anything to do the rusted turbo with? As i also did it with cans it looks a bit crap now

And with 2k you mean 2 component paint like in the paintshops?

You can use whatever antifreeze you like, it just isn't a good idea to mix them. You shouldn't mix pink stuff with blue stuff as it can turn to jelly.

I've always used Hammerite without a problem. I've used brush on in the past but I've sprayed my latest engine. Not ran heat through it yet though.

There is an exception to that though, with older cars you can't use the newer stuff (OAT) as it can damage seals etc, plus the colours don't necessarily denote the type of antifreeze.

IAT isn't really used these days, except in older cars where it's needed, plus it only has a two year life.

So what type of hammerite did you guys use? I see many different types on the dutch website of Hammerite.

I hope it holds better because it has a thicker layer. Little stones and everything make little dents/rust places on the engine.

I'm gonna try the Hammerite now, but just need to know which one to get!

The last three all look like a option to me

I have normal high shine, normal low shine and hit protect lets say
