Default Advice about a car thats been standing..Sevice and cam belt change?

Just bought my RST after looking at 20 from Dover to Scotland!..Was known as "pinky", done by Spec-r, a real nice example..Dunno how to put pics up in this post or i'd of included (help? All i have is the add pics from the web?)

Before i start to drive my new RS, i was gonna treat her to a full service and after reading the posts in the "cambelt and tensioner instruction" im gona do the cam belt myself and save a few bob...Nice one Karlos G!!

ok the guy i bought it from "kirk" only drove the car 100miles in 2 years, hence me wanting to give it a service as ts been standing awhle..My question should i before the service flush the engine with engine/oil flush and also flush the coolant system?..if so what would you guys use, or would you even bother as she does run and drive fine?

Nice one guys

I would definitely change the oil and filter, as it can get water and other contaminants in it over time! Also I would check the BRAKE FLUID! with a tester very easy to do and change if necessary! This will stop you getting spongy brakes when you don't need it!

Check the coolant and see how it looks its your call, costco do some good stuff at the moment quite cheaply!

Air filter same again check before you change!! Spark plugs are also worth a check to see what they are like too!

Finally if you are feeling really keen check the cam belt, use your common sense here, and if you are not happy change it anyway, even if its not due! The cost of cam belt failure is normally eye watering!

Just get some decent oil in it and give it a general service, always good to replace cambelt if you dont know when it was last changed

Personally i'd change ALL the fluids and belts for piece of mind.

I'd also put a decent semi synthetic oil in for say 500-1000 miles then change to good fully synthetic. Fresh coolant after running up to temp, and flush the radiator through too, brake fluid should be changed every couple years anyway so i'd refresh that.
