Default Chipping advice

Hello all New to the scene, looking to get a few things done to the S2 but I dont outwardly want to change the appearance of the car. Its been in my family since new, when i was 7 (24 now). Ive already got a magnex exhaust system and pipercross induction kit fitted and Im thinking of doing the following:-

Chipped
-31 Actuator
Samco Boost hose
Bailey Dump Valve
Cam

Im not sure about the dump valve and im only considering it because its been recommended by the garage that services the car (who are excellent). Are they worth it? The thought of everyone looking at me when it 'dumps' doesnt fill me with joy. If i do get one fitted should it be fitted before the car gets chipped and setup on a rolling road? If i dont get one fitted would it still be worth fitting the samco boost hoses?

Ive spoken with Interpro in Bristol and theyve said its £395 + VAT to fit the chip and setup on their rolling road, and £80 for the actuator. Has anyone had any experience with them, they any good? Whats the difference between the chip theyll fit and any other company?

With regards to the cam, will changing it after the RR setup cause any problems?

Cheers!

I hate dump valves!!! I don't run one...

Rolling road set ups are a waste of time to be honest cos it isn't a real world situation. Chances are, after an RR set up, it will run lean on the road and risk melt down.

Not sure about Interpro to be honest either. Don't think anyone on here uses them. My own personnal choice is Stu and Kenny at Motorsport Developments. There is Karl Norris in Coventry who is also very good at his job.

I personnally don't but I have spoken with tuners who have used a rolling road to set up the car then checked it on the road and found the car was lean on the road. Unless they set it on the rich side while the car is on the rolling road of course....

yeah i agree with the rolling road thing, as many of my mate have had rolling road sessions on they cars, 1 month later = blown up due to what DazC says not being a real road situation and running lean,

As soon as mines run in being live mapped.

save yourself money and purchase a chip from ebay normally 100 quid, then take it to a tuner to have it setup.

im not getting any future RS set up on a rolling road for the reasons above. only thing they good for is a power run and even then their accuracy can be debated!

Well I got to dissagree with you there lads! I can see where you are coming from and in some cases Id agree but to simply write off all tuners that setup using Rolling Roads is a little to much of a sweeping statement for my liking.

I have seen a number of cars setup/mapped on the road detting there nuts off when being run up on the Rolling Road, then again we are fortunate in that we have 1 of the best rolling roads in the country.

I wouldnt dismiss on the road method of mapping/tuning. There are good and bad in all walks of life!!

With an experienced Mapper/tuner and propper rolling road setup there is no reason why rolling roads should be avoided!

Im getting my car to a guy who has a RR to check if it is running lean because it gets very hot..
If its like you say, he would read it to be running extremly lean
Not saying that he is bad, but I just hope he does a good job
