Default want to earn some ££ need a handy rs guy, just bought one

Hello all
Was a grest day at fordfair yesterday for those of you that went, little bit of rain but still managed to get a burnt face and neck

Anyway, im new to this forum. Just signed up. Reason is ive just bought myself a 90' Escort Rs Turbo in grey, im the 5th owner. First time ever owning a Ford also so hopefully ive not made an expensive or wrong decision.

Its a standard car, factory stereo, original engine checked the code. Only mod is a k&n and full s/s exhaust.
Checked it all over usual spots, has had welding in past, batt try, arches, crossmember, front/rear floor pans, sunroof. All good.

Has a full folder of mot's, service history, and loads of receipts.

I want to keep it standard, am looking for an original air box if you have one?

What i need is someone to point me in the direction of having this car tuned so make sure its running as it should, no air leaks, worn bits etc, that the boost is factory standard 8psi, what bits need replacing etc. As the mileage is very high i.e. 170k so has it been rebuilt etc i dont know!

Someone that can work on these that is in the area or i can travel, im in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.

Please help

Regards

Thomas

Alright Thomas,

Am only in Gainsborough but can't tell you if your engines running as it should lol, am going down Janos in a couple of weeks you could follow me down? Jano will have a good look over your motor and fix any minor running issues out.

But either way SCS is only 50 miles so makes sense to go see Harvey Gibbs.

i know harvey is a good cossie/yb specialist, i didnt realise he catered for the rst aswell. is he familiar with mfi? im looking at a setup and as im in scunthorpe it would be good to go down with another old ford.

Harvey and Tim did my first ever setup and can't recommend them highly enough. the car was a rocket after a couple of hours there. I use Jano @ oddkidd creations too. good bloke and consider him a good pal. either company are a good bet but SCS are very much closer to you but I'd bet Jano will be able to accomodate you for a setup at shorter notice.

hi guys, yes i met someone at fordfair he passed me janos details, but yes it is very far trip to make especially if the rs is running lean or rich.

after a bit of research the closest place to lincoln is the place: http://www.corten-miller.co.uk

spoke to the guy, he knows the cvh engine well with stuff he was telling me about it even i didnt know, filled me with confidence that knows what to do.

ill be taking a trip down next thursday afternoon if you wanna join us? pm me if interested

as for history on the car, the reg is H770 WCP if anyone remembers that?
