You'll not get much for 3400 it will be rotten in places and need money spending on it for that price range, mines for sale in the for sale section page 1or2 it's quite a bit more than £3400 though but then again it's totally minted! Have a nosey

Good luck though finding one bud.

I think the reason why you cant find a decent one is because your budget is way too low . It sounds like you want a minter for minger money

Good luck you will need it

not a minter by any means expect concourse but considering the prices they are asking for the state they were in nobody who knows what they are looking at would touch them mate but if you seen some of the s2s i have seen this week they wernt worth 1000 mate never mind the prices they were asking more along a spares and repairs car

What happens is people buy an s2 for say £2500 then spend £££ doing them up, i would save up and buy a good one rather than having the hassle making it a good example of an s2 but... Then you end up spending big bucks!

I found the same thing mate, looked at a few and thought they were almost double what they were worth. One at 3k in Bolton had puddles in the footwells and rear window was ready to fall out due to rot.

It seems they're suffering the RS tax. Ended up spending 5k on one, only to find out when getting it home that it was leaning out about 4k and boost wasn't being controlled properly either, it'd had a 13k restoration few years ago and done little miles since, but little things had been overlooked or put back wrong. A washer inside the metering unit was missing so the bolt thread stopped the flap moving causing lean at revs, Amal valve plumbed in wrong so wasn't controlling boost properly. Master cylinder knackered etc. All little things but they add up considering the effort and money spent on it!!

Took me about 4 months to find this one. Glad i went over budget though cause its MINT besides a couple odd jobs to get it 100% how i want it. Got all the right bits in the right places

Keep at it!

I agree, pay for one which is done and had the money spent on it cos I guarantee, you buy one for 3400, if you get away with only putting another 1600 into it, so spent 5 in total, you'll have been very, very lucky.

If im honest some of the 3500-4k ones are decent for a daily, but for every one of those there will be 6 in same price range which are in my opinion projects.

One at gs escorts other week was 2500 and sold for near enough that on ebay. i wouldnt have given more than 1750 for it cause although it was relatively straight body wise it simply didnt drive right, at all.

If i had some spare time and space i'd have made a decent offer, but at the moment im doing my cab rebuild so no interest in engine out/major jobs.

i went to see one yesterday up for 3500 you wouldnt habe even call it a project needed a complete restoration both mechanically and cosmetically there wasnt a place where it wasnt rotten in all the prone places and ran like a bag of nails i dont mind a bit of work but that price for that condition yhe lad was in a dreamworld i dont mind a few issues mainly running wise of course but man i think some lads look at some pearlers on here and convince them selves there car is worth only 1500 less the one yesterday was just a crazy price imho

It's worth putting a wanted ad on RSOC. Bloke I got mine from got contacted through a wanted ad.

Not very often they come up for sale but they seem to be better on there.

Ive got one that has just been resprayed, 80k miles, black, no rust any where. Battery tray is mint, chassis rails are mint.
Just had new, fuel pump, metering head, fuel ecu, ecu, drilled discs and pads, calipers etc etc

Needs setting up and a few other bits but I would take 2700 for it.

It is one of the shiniest S2s you will have seen.

I just can't afford to keep going on with it.
