Default Headlight problem?!?!

Hi,

Got a slight problem with the headlights on my S2 RST.

Dipped work fine, but when you put them on main beam, they are DIMMER than when on dipped, and full beam is only about the same as main beam, still with me?!

This happened whilst driving home the other night, they went dimmer or even off totally on there own then went back to normal again a few seconds later, this got worse the next night with everyone thinking I was flashing them!!

Any ideas?

Cheers,

James.

It means they are the same on full beam as they are on main beam! Full beam as in what you would flash someone with, main beam ie. normal driving/night conditions! Or am I wrong? Either way, they are knacked, so any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

James.

Sounds like a smiliar prob I had with my old S2. the alternator was fucked, and having my full beam on at night and stereo made it all die and I had literally no lights for a few miles in pitch black, fuck that is scary! it even dimmed my clocks right out! it was like the batt wernt getting enough chrge, but when i booted it, it all popped back into life, anyway changed the alternator and that sorted it.

You might wanna change your batt as well, could have drained that a goodun.

got exactly the same problem on mine, not that its on the road at the mo.

The problem is the fuse box, there are 2 white relays in the box that control
the headlights mine have over heated and made bad connections inside
the fuse box i changed the relays twice and its fixs the problem for a
month or so then it starts messing about again.

Ive yet to fix the fuse box so i cant give you any idea on cost.

Hope thats some help.

Cheers

common fault - best way is a new relay box and new wiring.
