i have been offerd an 89 series 2 rs turbo, it has a genuine 37000 miles on her, it has been in the family since it was 6 months old and been dry stored since its first winter with the family, its waxoiled all over, no rot any where, whats it worth as i dont want to insult with a low offer and lose out on it

 

depends on condition, 5k+ if mint

 

its mega clean, only been on road a year then stored it was washed left for 2 days to dry then coverd in waxoil underneath then hasnt turned a wheel since other than regular start ups once a month it has the original tyres on it etc never been painted etc totally solid no welding nothing interior is mint

 

sounds like a nice car.. 37000 miles in one year? was it a taxi lol?

to be fair, sounds like a very nice car and it'll be worth as much as an S2 can be.

it seems to have a really good story (1 owner, low miles, history, mint, garaged etc). its worth 5-6k of anyones money and is an investment provided you dont put any substantial miles on it.

find another with a story like that- you could ask whatever money you liked and probably get it.

 

i know about miles, but the owner also has a rs2000, and he used to drive the turbo to shows, etc he is a rs fanatic, but he passed away last year and his wife wont part with the 2000, but has offerd me the turbo, and i dont want to insult, the car is 100% as left factory, exhaust tyres etc etc,

 

ok folks had to pass on this, as just told on monday my work is closing at end of december, so im not in a possition to buy the rs, which is a bugger,

the owner has asked me if i know anyone wanting to buy the car, i looked at the car in the garage, its 100% std, un welded painted etc etc, every pnl has been waxoiled, no rust anywhere, was told that the owner had taken door cards, rear qtr trims off and blasted the lot with waxoil,i can see that it has been done, even all wheelarches have a coating,sono rust etc,

battery tray, fusebox etc are 100% mint, and agin all coated, battery isnt in the car and has been removed since storage, i dont think it would take much to make concourse, other than blast off all the waxoil, lol and a good polish,

i offerd the owner 5k but she says she wanted a little more, she said she wants 6.5k for it, says she might put it on ebay , but i ll put the offer her incase anyone here wants it

 

How has it done 37000 miles in one year? Doesn't add up

 

i asked that too, but guy that had it drove it to shows etc, and had family down south, they are an older couple,until he passed away, but his wife doesnt seem the type to lie, she is in her 60s, and they have owned it since it was a few months old , she said it wasnt on the road a year until it was stored, only going on what im told mate sorry ,ive seen the car and would say miles are deffo 100% genuine, and its been in the garage as far as i can remember, ive wanted it for years,
