Default S2 Brake upgrade

Hi all, I'm looking at upgrading the brakes on my S2, I was thinking of ST170 brakes but have been told that they wont fit over my standard wheels does anyone know if this is right, if it is what brakes could I fit and not have to change my wheels?
Cheers

Binned mine they were pants. Went for the St170 setup and soooo much better! Yes you need bigger rims for clearance.

I have a custom made set of AP 4 pots on my track car to fit under standard s1/s2 wheels. They would have cost Ł1000 new but everything is included and worth every penny.

For the road my 2wd cosworth disks with ds2500 pads on standard rst callipers (with spacer brackets) work well, cheap and a nice firm pedal.

Remember that Mondeo V6's used the same calipers as the Escort Cosworth and are usally far, far cheaper

Cheers for all the help people. Would the mondeo ones fit under my standard wheels, if I fitted all 4 brakes would I still need a bias valve?

Good shout Muz!
The DS2500 pads Rob uses get awesome reviews, thinking of trying them myself next.
Im on mk3 mondeo calipers with st170 300mm discs and ebc yellowstuff pads, done 2 trackdays on em and loadsa hard miles with no hint of fade!

Sounds good Roger, I tried green stuff on my other car and hated them but the yellow stuff pads seem to get good results.

I had Green Stuff pads with the Escos set up and hated them, also. I changed them for a set of standard replacement Mintex and they were fine.
