Hi, got my 285t yesterday but to my surprise there wasn't any cam lube with it.
Ordered the cam + followers and i thought the cam lube would be with the cam..
Do i have to use piper cam lube or is there something else i can use?
Hope i can get some lube from the company i got it from..
Thanks

Definitely not!!!
Camshaft break in lube is very important.
Put lube on camshaft lobes and bottom of lifters.
Make sure you don't get cam lube on the sides of the lifters (just oil) - the lifters must be free to rotate during break in.
Once cam lube is on lobes and bottoms of lifters you are ready for the next steps.
Cheers

ok thanks, thought i'd ask here first before i did something stupid ![Rolling Eyes](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
Monday the cam is going in after my engine rebuild.. hope everything is going to be ok...
put my old cam in first for oil pressure and then the first startup.
But is it really needed to go for mineral oil on the first miles of the engine or can i go semi synth from the beginning. really dont know what to think now everybody does it differently.
One goes break in mineral oil the other goes semi or full synth from the beginning..

A high quality mineral oil with ZDDP break in additive.
This is a must.
Joe Gibbs racing oil has a special break in oil over here in North America.
