Default mtx75 gbox for a zetec turbo build

Morning peeples

I have acquired a mtx75 gbox from a rs2000.
Am I right in thinking that this is suitable for my zetec turbo build in my s2 ?
Is it better than my standard rst box ?

And does anything need to be done to it to make it work ?
I don't think they have LSD , so I guess I have to mod it ?
And what size clutch would I use with a 2.0 blacktop zetec turbo? Standard zetec size but uprated ?
Lots of questions sorry
Any advice appreciated guys.

And does anything need to be done to it to make it work ? - Mounts need to be added to the shell and you'll need a modified gear change and driveshafts. Jano @ Oddkiddcreations can supply these. With a Series 2 you will also need a Series One or RS1600i front ARB.

I don't think they have LSD , so I guess I have to mod it ? - Quaife do an MTX LSD

Depends what sort of power you're wanting. An IB5 out of a MK5 Escort would be slightly better than a BC as the casing is stronger so wont flex under load as much.

As muz says depends on what power your after. The MTX box is a strong box but moddifications are needed to be done to fit it. S1 anti roll bar, RS2K gear linkage, custom 2 piece or 3 piece drive shafts, moddified inner wing, custom mounts and what ever clutch you go with.

or.....

Im using the IB5 gear box as muz has mentioned. Im running 248bhp 269 torque and i have done hard launches at the pod and driven it pretty hard and its running sweet. But im hoping on putting a LSD in there as its a bit wild driving on one wheel lol. Only time will tell if it holds then.

Any IB5 or BC box will shit itself when used with a zetec turbo.

With one wheel spinning almost any gearbox will hold up.

Put in a limited slip and tires that grip and watch the IB5 go bang - most definitely.

crazy cage can do you all the mounts to fit the engine and box into your S2, including a hydraulic clutch conversion. Trust me, this is the best option. All you need then is someone to weld the mounts to the shell, which isn't difficult.
