Default Fuel pump help.

Right bit of a weird one this.

Earlier my pink relay gave up. I went to start the car and there was no prime sound when I switched the ignition on. Knowing that it was probably the fuel pump relay, I used a bit of wire to bridge the connection and get me the mile drive home.

Got a mate to run round a spare pink relay (working one as well as its out of his car), however this didn't work and now if I try and bridge the connection again there is nothing from the fuel pump?!?!

Do you think my fuel pump could have died?

any ideas would be great.

Try the heated seat fuse, failing that possible black fuel ECU failure.

to test power to fuel ECU, switch ignition on, pull the plug off the throtle switch, either of the end two pins (not the middle) should have 12 volts, its either both or one or the other I forget....if there is 12v then the fuel ECU has power if no 12 volts then it doesnt have power (but could still be working)

Yea heated seat fuse, ford thought it'd be a good idea to not have heated seats but have a slot on the fuse box incase but then stuck the fuse for the 12v to fuel management system....

Just got round to looking at it.
12v at the pump but no noise!
Seized fuel pump. It must have just given up as I got home!

Wired it straight to a battery and gave it a few taps and it started pumping again.
New one coming tomorrow. Cheers for the feedback guys.

Well, it turns out the new fuel pump didnt solve the problem.

I ran out of idea's so I trailered it to my tuner today. Found the source of the problem.
The guy who fitted my alarm had used a 15amp wire to the fuel pump relay and only cut and twist connected it! Should have been a thicker wire and were it was twisted together and not covered it have been shorting out on the body work and melted the wires!!

they shall be getting a sh*tty phone call tomorrow!
