I have managed to get hold of a low mileage IB5 gearbox (well thats what i am told) - will this just drop into my Series 2 or does it need any kind of modification - i have hear it will drop straight in but i just want to ask people who clearly know a lot more than me.

should fit straight in, won't have an LSD if its out a non turbo escort!

Definatley not from an RS turbo - it has a part number starting 94 (indicating the year of manufacture) so i am guessing its from a Fiesta or Diesel Mk5/6 or something.

RS Turbo's never came with IB5 gearbox's.
Yeah quite an easy job as long as you have a 5th gear puller.

didn't need a puller on the two i've done

as aboe it must be out the later escort.shuould fit straight in but id fit a lsd atleast before putting it in
