just noticed i only seem to have 1 ignition key for my s2, and yet 3 or 4 keys for the door locks.....which i no longer even have a need for due to delocked doors

but obviously 1 ignition key isnt great if it ever gets lost

can u get extras cut still? and can they do it off the existing key, or do u need 1 with the red plastic like the later escorts?

 

ford cut me a new1 for my saph at local dealer, no u dont need red key! they have emobiliser transponders in them rsturbos dont have them.

 

I used a company called "Keys in the post" they have a website just a couple of weeks back, guranteed to be cheaper than Fraud!

As said it's just a simple key, it does not have transponders etc or indeed anything in terms of security at all lol as standard! Any key cutter will need your original key unless you have the key number to hand, which I doubt you do!

how much do the independant key cutters charge per key roughly?

 

We have alot of this keys at work, and no problem to read out your key code from your key if it`s in not to worn. It`s a 5minutes job to cut a key

 

I paid £10, they also told me my key number for future reference!
