Are the pads free in the carrier? is the handbrake when released allowing caliper levers to return to there stops?

My rear disc brakes was letting on because of rear axle compensators. Bypass those and brakes will release completely. Altough brake balance is ruined.

I suggest you change drum brakes back with original compensator setup, rear disc conversion is shit i say.

Its a strange one when I unbolt the rear wheels the brakes don't stick on which is strange as the caliper slider bracket is central to the disc and the caliper centres uts self. I'm going to wind the caliper in later bolt the wheel on then press the pedal so it meets the disc how it should can't see it making any diffrence though lol

There binding, where did you source the calipers? They do have a common problem for seizing, so if you got second hand etc. Also a collapsed hose can cause this.

The cable is fine by the sounds of it, as the problem is only apparent once you start driving the car and you say the levers are releasing.

Irs strange the calipers are working fine ther are not seized hand brake lever is free and working perfectly and when the wheels are off they work fine and are releasing fine its when the wheels are put on the problem starts like the slider brackets are seized not letting the calipper ceter its self but the slider brackets are also freely moving lol

It sounds like the spacers between the caliper and the mounting plate arent the correct size. It binds with the wheel on because the disk is pushed against the rear pad.

Take the spacers out and measure them, IIRC they need to be 9mm.

To test, add washers to the spacers to increase the size untill they work again, then get some new spacers made to the correct thickness.

My rear disk conversion works absolutely fine without compensators on an XR3i master cylinder. No bias valve either and it passed an MOT 2 weeks ago with no wheel drag and adequate force.

I'll try in a bit but the caliper slider is central to the disc when all bolted up
