Default urgent help needed please please

hi all im in need of urgent help, i filled my car up with normal unleaded and stuck it up as normal sounded fine ran fine. my mate sed he'd take it down the private lane and he pulled off fine and then cut out. it wud turn over but not fire. as the fuel relay primes there is a high pitch noise from under bonnet that wasnt there before. its chucking loads of fuel through and sparking but not firing. if you unplug tyhe fuel relay there is no high pitch noise. it fires up on the fuel that is already in the engine. we have done a compression test and its goin to about 7 bar. without the relay in it runs for a few seconds and cuts out sometime back firing through the filter and exhaust. can anyone help its meant to be getting setup on saturday. its ran and driven fine before.

please help ring me if you like on 07714023963

Check for any airleaks. When your friend cranks it over, press the metering flap down very gently to see if that keeps it running.

Now obviously it's making that high pitch noise it's pushing to much fuel in so won't start. If you take the plugs out they are soaked. Fuel squirts out the plug holes. If you take the relay off and turn it over to get rid of the fuel it starts up then dies cos of lack of fuel.

My mate had the same problem, as rick said press the metering flap gently, u may have a air leak or need to adjust the fueling . Take the plugs out and de-coke them because if it floods up it'll foul the plugs

Tried that's just now. Didnt make any difference. Can get my head around the the noise. Once the fuel relay has primed the noise stops. It putting that much fuel through it's coming out a joint in the exhaust

Try removing the fuel relay, and run a wire 12v straight to the fuel pump, if u get someone in the car to turn it over whilst pressing the metering flap as u hear it trying to kick over run the fuel pump. Its a bit of a long shot, but that's how we got his running

we have tried that and still no joy. it just seems as if the fuel pump is putting that much through at once it instantly floods then cuts out. is there anything else that sorts it all out or do you think the pump is up the creak

There fuel systems are pretty basic, so I don't think there could be much else.

The high pitched squealing noise you hear is ur fuel regulator, is the noise coming from the back of ur metering head by any chance?? Sounds like ur metering unit is f#kd an is pouring fuel into ur engine..

You must already have one on ur car as u says car was running, it's screws onto right hand side if metering unit, best bet would be to swap meterin unit as sounds that urs is shagged

i dont think its the metering unit itself it just sounds like a pressure regulator to me, metering units usually fail by not supplying enough fuel, its still a possibility it is though
