gt28 would be a good choice, any injectors that flow enough fuel for your application will do, the choices are endless. t34s are a bit big for the old 1600

Cossie T3 would be my choice of turbo, newman cam, and whatever managment your tuner prefers. Speak to Jano @ Oddkid creations, he's extremely helpful and very reasonable too! http://www.oddkiddcreations.co.uk/

Well yeah obviously a bigger engine would be lovely, but he wants to stick with CVH and people were advising on what turbo to use... Surely a stage 3 turbo with a 55/60 trim comp housing will flow better and make more power than a standard .42 trim housing?

Yhh i have but that can always be kept lol i thought the mounts had to be changed so i can drop a zetec turbo engine in and run it on rst gearbox until the gearbox blows up lol?? Dnt the engine mount hav to be modified?? And 250bhp on a zetec would b easily achievable am i right in thinkin that

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
![Default](https://passionford.com/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif)
I had a stage 3 t3 before on same spec engine .48 exhaust housing and was nowhere near 4k untill it came on boost. It was so responsive and makes me want to change back to it instead of the 34.

In answer to the OP....
For 220-250 bhp with his setup will just need a Stage 2 T3 (.36/50) for up to 230bhp or a Stage 3 T3 (.48/55) for up to around 270bhp this is assuming you have a FMIC and suitable injectors.
IMO a T34 or GT28 are too big for that target BHP.
Stock head and cam flow enough for around 250bhp, then port work is really needed, my NMS head for just the port work was around Ł350 but I also had SS valves bronze guides etc fitted at the same time so paid a fair bit more.

A standard head and cam might make close to 250 hp, but at very very high boost levels.
Karlos has a well ported head and performance camshaft and still required well over 1 bar boost to make 231 HP.
I really don't see a standard head making 250 HP - unless its on one of those "funny numbers" dyno.
Cheers

forget the headache in the end your going to drop a zetec turbo in it so forget the hasslle drop it in and it will be the average jap killing machine !! by the way if your putting a gt28 or t34 on your cvh dont bother. either get a cossie t3 or get a GT25 turbo minmal lag nd will still make good power

Hello Jimbo,
A propper cleaning of the ports, removing casting flash, and those terrible sharp machined edges make quite a difference in the heads ability to make power.
What management? standard ford? efi? Mfi?
Intake manifold?
Starting to sound a bit modified. I can believe 250 hp from a modified 1.6
