so i went to a place today to see about some work and there was a car garage across the estate, i got talking to him about the s1 he had outside and a fiesta he had at the back of his unit. this guy went on to say he was getting 500bhp out of his zetec engines with just skimming the pistons with the right map ???? can this be done.

Total bollocks mate. Lucky to be getting a genuine 250bhp I would think with skimmed pistons. Fuck my mate has spent a shed load on his Zetec Turbo to make 385bhp and he REALLY know's what he's doing

just what i thought, but when he said that i asked him 3 times if it was on the standard pistons and he said yes, and he went on saying something about the pistons was the same as forged ones or something like that.
but my brain had shut down by then because i didnt believe him pmsl. but you never no these days what some people come up with these days to get power out of an engine so i had to ask on here just in case its been done.

forged arias pistons and h beam rods fitted with arp bolts
1mm overbore to 2.1 litres
standard cranks
race bearings etc
standard ford multilayer head gasket
standard head bolts
big valve cylinder head with 1mm oversized valves cnc machined to port match both inlet and exhaust , uprated everything
double valve springs
standard exhaust cam
custom inlet cam
venier cam pulleys
custom inlet manifold
60/70mm throttle body
x4 650cc injectors
custom exhaust manifold
t61 turbo
external wastegate tial 44mm
pectel t2 management with custom loom
dyno testing of engine

thats about Ł10,500 and thats the old spec , add another Ł1500 for the dry sump system and another Ł1700 for the inlet manifold and finally Ł750 for the new exhaust manifold(home made so alot cheaper)



and a turbo the size of a sweet tub

sadly it has never been fitted into a car as i brought a new fiesta st 150 bodyshell and was going to fwd it but then i saw the jwrc fiesta and decided i must have one , so its going 4x4 with alot of wrc cosworth parts so it should handle really well.
if i had the funds i would like to buy a focus rs mk1 and stick it in that while the other is being finished
