CVH Engine Rebuilds
since my s1 most likely needs a bottom end rebuild... 
i was pricing up how much am i looking at to get it done....
just out of curiousity how much is the general price ppl are paying to get the 1.6 cvh engine rebuilt with the uprated parts...like low comp pistons and competition bearings etc.???

i did think about doing a zvh but to get it done properly is a bit pricey and now ive found someone who will do me the cvh rebuild for a very good price...

well its from a mate and i dont know how much im finally going to end up folking out but it will be considerably cheaper than any other option...
this guy (if your from birmingham -) is well known for breaking rs turbos and in the past he has rebuilt many engines all of which are rated not only by their owners but everyone....for example he made a 1.6 cvh with 250 proven bhp and the engine has done 40'000 miles and nothing has gone wrong yet apart from a gearbox...mostly to do with how the car is setup but shows something about the build aswel..

hi m8, just finished doing my rebuild, wasnt as expensive as i thought.
Ł500 for forged low comp 1mm pistons
Ł425 for my local engine place to rebore,hone, re-grind crank,fit the pistons, supply arp bearings and shells. And lighten and balance everything.
I brought the oil pump and water pump from ebay, brand new, oil pump was geniune Ł15, and a non gen waterpump for Ł8, and their fine!!.
