I was speaking to a chap a while back about this who had the Orion on a forged 2.1 Zetec on throttle bodies with 8 injectors and he said, like the Evo engines he believed they could safely be bored and stroked to 2.3/2.4 litres. Not sure if he ever did try though.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
I would have the cylinder walls sonic checked for thickness.
Sonic checking engine blocks before boring oversize is a good idea, as some blocks have core shift where some cylinders have thicker walls and some very thin.
Also major thrust side requires more material 4 to 5 mm.
I am sure the top engine machine shops do sonic mapping of cylinder walls?
