Default clutch slip

I have a ap paddle clutch that was previously fitted to another car that had done less then 1000 miles. Fitted the clutch and went for a drive and the clutch slips in the mid range power and even in 5th gear when you poke your toe down. The only thing that is going through my mind is that i may have put the plate in the wrong way round. Would this make the clutch slip or just ride high? I had the fly wheel refaced and de-geased before i installed it.

Thanks

Don't think you'd be able to put the plate on the wrong way round as you wouldn't be able to bolt it down.

this is most likley the time the clutch will slip. Paddle clutches can sometimes take a while to bed in

usually you can tell if a clutch has had a hard life but there is loads of meat left on the passled and there not the usuall blue like a clutch has on hard life. The pressure plate looks in good condition with minimal marks to the face and where the bearing sits. But as you say i think its the pressure plate that is causing the troulble. maybe a bad one?

^ As Conor said, only need the pedal mod if you're having trouble engaging gears - but if it's borderline, would it cause it to slip?

I haven't done the pedal mod as it wasn't required, but may be worth trying it before shelling out on new clutch parts.

Here's the link on the mod incase you don't have the info handy.
