Pulling to the right when breaking hard
Looking for some advice here. Was out for a run and was testing my brakes (cossie discs front, std drums rear) and noticed it was pulling badly to the right when braking hard. ABS has been removed.
I know my tyre pressures were fine cos I just done them before I went out so just wondering what do I need to check.
The car has hardly been used for a nearly a year due to a long engine rebuild but the brakes were overhauled this time last year and were fine on the track.
Also I have since stripped the rear trim out so just wondering if I need to adjust anything to compensate for the lower weight?
Any help would be much appreciated?

I had the same with mine last year, the garage tried to tell me that it was the caliper, i told him before he charges me for that i want him to check the brake hose...low and behold its the brake hose that had collapsed and not the caliper, so check that before ya fork out on the caliper

Easiest way would be to take it to an MOT station with a couple of packs of biscuits and get them to check it for a brake imbalance. Will only take a couple of minutes.

i'd take the callipers off, clean them up, clean and grease the sliders and then fit back together with a smear of copper grease on the important bits. also check the hoses are ok while your down there.
if callipers are all ok and the discs and pads are in good condition and its still doing it its time to check tracking and suspension components.

It was on the MOT that it was picked up on, it had been only slightly noticeable when driven, but it was on the MOT rollers that it was obvious! The Break hose was the problem, and was replaced and re tested and now problem since!

Gonna run it for a bit during the week and see if it frees off as its maybe just stuck from lack of use. Failing that will strip the brakes at the weekend and investigate.
Think I have cossie discs and std RS calipers but not sure as were already fitted when I bought the car. If the calipers are shot I would prefer toreplace with something new and better.
Would mondeo calipers fit straight on with new pads?

I had an escort a few years back with a siezed on nsf brake which turned out to be the flexi hose so it is possible.
