Default Stay 17s or go back to 15s ?????

Currently have 17" Wolfrace Voodoo alloys on my S2 with 205/40/17 tyres and Koni Adjustables with poly bush all round.

Thinking of going back to standard wheels on a 15" as the ride seems very harsh and roads round my way dont help at all.

What i want to know is

a) Will i notice any significant improvement in ride quality ?
b) Will standard rims fit over 4x4 front brake conversion with 2wd discs?

Cheers

A) Yes
Will drive much nicer and feel better with decent size tyres.

B) Yes
The Saff came with these Disks and Calipers and also had 15in wheels fitted.

My advise would be use 16in wheels with 205/40/16 Tyres for all round nice looking and handling car with the right wheels of course.

im putting standard wheels back on my s1 but its upto you realy as you might like the look of it with 17" but will drive so much better on 15"...

and the 4x4 cosworth brakes will fit under both anyway.

I've got 16's on my S1 and a couple of months back i swapped them over for a set of 15's for the evening.

The difference was amazing felt so much more responsive and handled better, but stuck with the 16's as i kept grinding out on speed humps etc etc.

16" give a much better drive than 17" but seems to be harder to get as many wheels in this size.

Ok then clear that going from 17s to 16s is clearly the way forward but what 16s are there out there that are any good - 17s not a problem (Voodoo's and RS7's diamond cut or softline look great) and for 15s just go standard but 16s ????

Any suggestions pics would be great - like the idea of black wheel on mine as well as its a radiant red S2

Seconded. One of the best mods I've done to my escort. Handles great and looks great.
17's look a bit too max power.

ive had various sizes on mine, 17"s look awesome for the oldskool of tuning, but think they only handle well if you have good suspension mods

16"s are a great compromise for looks and handling

15"s, cant beat the ride

17's look the best I would never go down to 15's due to looks but 15's do handle better, and the ride with 17's are fine with my car but it all depends on how low you have dropped your car.
