Default ZVH Head Gasket

I believe my headgasket it going, I keep loosing coolant but cant see a leak anywhere. I can also hear the coolant bubbling up in the head tank and the oil looks a bit "milky" but not too bad and I keep putting litre after litre of anti freeze in after such a short period of time.

Question is how much should I be looking at to have the head gasket work done, I would want to have a decent head gasket, get the cambelt done at the same time, oil and or course anti freeze. What sort of price do you think a garage should charge for all this????

I'm in burgess hill west Sussex,
Haynes Is a good idea, when the valve dropped I'm my escort it only took me around 30 mins to get the head off.
It's realy not that difficult, if you can swing a set of spanners you should be fine. Only special tool you would need is a toque wrench.
Take your time make sure the block and head Is clean. Hth
Cheers john

Head gasket is a piece of piss job, just make sure you you get the head checked to see its flat if the gasket has gone. Might be warped. It doesn't say if you use a 1.8 or a 2.0 block for the ZVH?

If you've got a 1.8 use a standard Ford CVH gasket, if its a 2.0/2.1 you really should use a Zetec headgasket from a Focus RS. You will need to have the back of you head built up with weld and skimmed flat but won't cost much.

What he said, nice quality multi layer steel gasket with head bolts is around £130 from there iirc, cant go wrong as long as your surfaces are clean and flat.

Its a 2.0 ZVH......

Ill give Sitech Racing a call and enquire about there gasket.

had a quote back from a local garage and they estimate to strip and overhaul the head, fit new gasket, cambelt, change the oil and anti freeze etc should be around £650.00.

Im assuming thats a fairly expensive price?

How much should I be looking at to have the head skimmed flat to make sure its not warped? just a rough idea so I know I wont been seen off.
