Talking Help me figure this one out!

After fitting my new gearbox and LSD the steering is much heavier! I have no idea why, cant figure it out?! lol
Checked that nothing is rubbing on the track rods, hub assy, shocks, etc. and that nothing is bent... Everything looks normal!

Any idea's peeps?

has the diff locked? this would make turnnig very dificult and give heavy steering. also have you dramaticly changed the angle in which the driveshafts travel to the hubs? as this could put load on the cv joints and or bearings? only thaughts.

I've always had a Quaife ATB diff in mine and the steering has always been very heavy. Makes the car hard to drive to be honest.

I can't remember what it was like on a standard diff as it's been that long!

Probably just the diff like crazycage said.

When I had an RS (LSD) 'box in my XR3i for a short while I noticed a huge difference in steering weight from the XR 'box. When I swapped back to the original 'box due to a fault with the RS one, the steering was immediately lighter again.

The diff is working properly can feel it moving torque from one wheel to the other when I would normally be spinning, drive shaft angle is the same as it's always been slightly downward towards the hubs from gearbox.

This is a brand new Puma Racing LSD so maybe it's 'tight' if thats possible?! My ATB was heavy but that was on 17's so was heavy anyway.

Is sounding more like it's the LSD causing the extra weight, I did wonder if it was.

well a couple of mates run the corsa set up on mk1/2 escorts with quick racks and they are great fun ...

and another mate just put it on a nova track car and he said its great for when you get it a bit wrong and it makes it easy to catch the backend lol
