Default zetec turbo questions help

guys in the know please help.....

a mate of mine is selling a zetec turbo set up realy cheap and im thinking of getting it for my next project....

its a 2lt silver top with the following work done

calibra pistons skimmed with valve cut outs
standard rods and crank (fully balanced)
arp main set
silver top head modded for cvh manifold (exhaust) complete

bottom end needs assembling with tensioners and belt ect but comes with zetec pullys top and bottom .... it still needs the oil return putting in and the breather blanker plate....

so it needs cam belt / tensioner/ alternater pully/ gaskets/ head bolts/ better valve springs / sump / and breather fitting ...
it comes with a crackle black rocker cover..

he want £250 for it all is it worth it and how much more would need to be spent
thanks

If he had done it properly he would want another zero on that price!

Calibra pistons don't need skimming for starters!

depends mate. calibra turbo pistons dont. but c20xe calibra pistons do. the xe pistons are ok in a zvh but in a zetec are to high comp

also can you tell me what you mean by properly??? i no of a 330hp zetec with the same bottom end!!

well i heard that standard rods could only do 270ish bhp but this would be fine because it would be going in a light car anyway

do it right do it once.

Rods and pistons. New bearings gaskets pump etc etc. Done.

Cut corners now and it will bite you back when you least need it when funds are low and you will be less an engine and down loads of labour and expense on an engine that might let go.

I have seen many dead ZT's, built on a budget without spending a little extra in the first place
