My 205 used to get this badly due to the tank design. So fuel swirl pot and 2nd pump was the only real was to properly cure it for me.
Not Heard of RST's getting it too bad though.

should be on inner wing on a series 2. Did I once read that a lot of the after market tanks seemed to suffer from this more than the original ford tank?

Must be a non genuine tank- i had one on my track car up until recently and always had trouble before it even got down to half. Constantly had to keep it topped up...
Managed to find a brand new genuine Ford one and ive been down to 1/4 tank on track with no problems!

Never had this problem in my trackcar, you sure you have a proper Ford fueltank as said above??I can get down to below 1/4 tank before I get issue's in the corners.

Your pump is buzzing bubs cause its on its way out.

Well if you fill the tank to the top and the pump stops buzzing then you'll know.

Look inside it- the collector pot is a creamy plastic colour and the fuel return pipe from the front of the tank to the collector pot is clear plastic.
On a non-gen tank the whole lot is metal (and completely shit at doing what its supposed to do)

Also worth noting that when people powder coat them the heat when curing can fuck the plastic inner parts completely up.
