Possible to fit a 6 speeder to a Silvertop Block/sump? I don't fancy swapping out my sump with all the bits done on it.

So how would it be done? I know you'd need to grind a bit of the block on the Silvertop as the starter fouls on the edge, and on the Blacktop the sump has pickup points for the gearbox itself. Then I am assuming that you'd need to make a custom bracket up to enable the use of the equal length driveshafts on the silvertop block?

Failing that I'd love to be able to fit the 6 speeder into my Mk1 - but using the same bolt holes/front starter as a BC box as then I can mount it on a bearer and not have to faff with custom mounts.

Possible to weld a BC bellhousing to a 6 speeder?

the box will bolt up fine with the 6 bolts onto the block, and yes you will need a custom braket for the centre shaft, luca had one made when he went dry sump have a look in his resto

box from a focus (you can pick up the rs when you find one)

gear stick and cables from a focus (but must be from one that has a mtx fitted)

clutch and flywheel (any 2.0l zetec flywheel and a focus rs clutch)

custom top mount for box (i can sort this if you want)

focus rear gearbox mount

and a set of shafts

then you just need to sort the hydraulic clutch ( i do a kit that bolts in)

well for 1500 you can drop the car off and in 2 weeks pick it back up again all done and fitted including the focus rs clutch (with normal mtx box unless customer has the frs box then the cost of our box is taken away) only thing that would need doing is the new mounts colour coding as we leave then seem sealed and primed for customer to have that sorted at a later time

Do you think it would be possible to weld the entire bolt pattern edge and starter bulge of a BC to a Getrag?

Sorry to the OP for going off topic.

Didn't think it was 100% the same along the bottom - I need the exact same configuration to enable me to use my Mk1 XR2 gearbox bearer.

I'll look further into it.
