Default Map Sensor Fault Question

Hi all,

Took my car to Well Lane Turbos yesterday to get it set up properly with the chipped ECU. Found out that the Map Sensor on the ECU is faulty.

I have a Series 1 ECU that has a working Map Sensor in it. Can i swap the sensors over by soldering it on?

Hope someone can help.

Cheers
Dave

The timing is not advancing as it should be. On tickover the timing is at 4 degress BTDC and doesn't advance much at all to about 10 if that. I have looked at the Map Sensor on a S1 ECU and it looks the same but has a different part number on it. I wondered if these are set the same or do they work at totally different pressures.

buy another series 2 ecu, they only about a tenner, and solder the chip into that one.

Or just use the S1 ECU. Most consider the S1 ECU better as it doesn't have a knock sensor.

Does anyone know the differences between the series 2 ecu and the series 1 apart from it not having the knock sensor?

Not exactly sure.

Try asking in the general section. Not everyone comes in here.
