Alright folks!
Juat a quick one.
Put my S2 back on the road this week after winter, all is fine. But...........
I keep getting the odd missfire only in 5th when driving under load.
Checked the car and rotor with are fairly new, cleaned them up from carbon fouling on the contacts, ran perfectly to Cumbria this weekend.
Then started missing on the way home! When I got back I checked the cap and rotor and the contacts are carbon fouled again, presumeably causing the miss.
Can anyone shed any light on how to stop the carbon fouling happening so quickly??
Apart from spending 2 grand on cossie management and a coil pack conversion
Seems odd that it runs perfectly when it's hammered in 2nd, 3rd and 4h, but missfires slightly in 5th only under load...
Cheers!!

Cheers for your response mate!
Thats what I initially thought, but the fact it ran great once the distributor cap contacts were clean has me puzzled!
Could be the start od metering unit fun!?!
Best off biting the bullett and taking it somewhere for a proper set up..before something brakes!
