Default no ignition??

Nearly finished the rebuild and wanted to get the car started today, but when I turned the ignition I got nothing, no relay clicks, starter does not turn etc just dead.

The oil, battery and handbrake lights come on with the first turn but the fuel pump does not prime, the interior fans do not work and neither do the indicators. I have checked the fuses are ok at least.

I never had a problem before it was dismantled for the rebuild. The battery, starter and alternator are only a few months old and I have replaced the looms from battery to starter and starter to alternator too. It must be something dead simple but dunno what yet...any ideas folks??

Wee update..,found a black wire on the '-'ve that I had put on the positive. Since swapping this round I now have lights, fans, clocks, computer etc but still no fuel pump or ignition.

Having checked everything else there is a red/black wire that comes out the main loombelow the rad but does not connect to anything obvious. This wire is accompanied by the blue wire which connects to the other blue in the starter to alternator loom. Does anyone know where this red/black is supposed to go?

I have a sneaky suspicion it is supposed to join a single black wire which goes back to the fuse box but it is not long enough to do so. This single black wire is wired up to my fans and is presumably the '-'ve.

I don't have a multimeter yet to check.

I should add that this black wire is part of a manual fan switch that has been added at some point.

Unless, (having read some previous posts) the black/red wire from the main loom is the energiser for the starter solenoid in which case I need to connect it to the starter and fingers crossed all will be good.

Where on the starter should it actually go?

Default UPDATE

Yup I was right, red/black to starter solenoid and it now cranks but not got enough juice to get it started.
