I have just found an RS Turbo wheel with a 195/50/15 Dunlop D40 SP Sport tyre in the back of my garage - forgot it was there ?

Am I right in thinking this is an original spec S2 tyre ??

It looks unused as the tread is superb - is it worth anything ?

 

Not S2 - was original for RS1600i and possibly S1...

 

thought they were on 3 door cossies??

 

3 door cosworth had d40s, the s2 had goodyear nct50 i think? please correct me if in wrong, the s1 had dunlops but not sure which type.

 

Hi Guys, RS 1600is were Dunlop D4s & S1 Turbos were Michelin mxv tyres this i am 100% certain of , i believe though not certain S2 had D40 tyres & nct 50 tyres depending on the year.

 

The tyre might be to the concourse boys.

I did find on another forum that the early S2 was Dunlop D40 and later on NCT 50's ?? Anyone know for sure ?

yes pal think they did goodyear nct,and defo did the Dunlop D40, i got one too

 

i got a pair of mxvs an a d40 in my shed cant be worth much

 

Right Chaps, NcT50 were early S2, D40s(195x50x15) were later S2 & Uniroyals were later S2 as well.

 

If they are the original mxv tyres ie not mxv2 etc , then for a reasonable worn one about 50 each to a S1 owner, new ones make Ł200 each. D40 depends on size, as 3dr cosworths had d40s, but next size up from the s2.

 

if they in good nik, i bet the concourse boys/girls would be interested
