MS and EFI clocks Rev counter wiring
I've tried it direct from the MS ECU and it's not working, so I'm guessing I need to do one of the following....

Seeing as I dont have either to hand thought i'd save some time and ask which one it is?
Cheers!

yours should work fine if you've got efi clocks just run green wire from rev counter to the coil pack and should be fine mine is that way but as it's a mfi rev counter then it reads half true value till i find some efi clocks to put in it
It's not mine, it's a mates...
Mine are MFI clocks and they work spot on using a relay to create a high voltage spike, but his are EFI clocks which I thought were low voltage as they run from the ECU not the coil!

EFi clocks in an EEC-IV environment run from the EDIS. But, they can be run from one side of the coilpack to give the same signal.
Does his car run an EDIS with the MS or does the MS directly drive a ford coilpack?
If so take your feed from one of those and test it. Should work straight out of the tacho output of the MS though as he has EFi clocks.

No EDIS, just the coil pack driven direct from the ECU.
So the tacho should work with both high and low voltage inputs? I know MFI clocks need both coil pack sides hooked up or they read 50% less rpm, but EFI ones will read correctly off only one half?

what i did and is a little more involved, is to take a feed directly off one of the ecu to coil wires and then get megatune/TS on the laptop and see the actual revs, then take clocks out of dash and take apart so you can get to the rev counter adjustment screw, then plug clocks in and adjust till they read correctly.
you'll find the screw under the rev counter with some glue holding it in place.
none of the other methods seemed to work for me or at least seemed more hassle than they are worth.
edit ti say not sure on efi clocks, but the principal should be the same.

Well, hooked up the EFI clocks to the coil pack and it only reads 50% same as MFI clocks
I'll just use the relay method that I have with my MFI clocks as that will work 100%

to the coil Pack but where?
thanks!!
