EFi clocks in an EEC-IV environment run from the EDIS. But, they can be run from one side of the coilpack to give the same signal.

Does his car run an EDIS with the MS or does the MS directly drive a ford coilpack?

If so take your feed from one of those and test it. Should work straight out of the tacho output of the MS though as he has EFi clocks.
