Default Non starting turbo!

well, after 6 troublefree months owenership, something had to go wrong, and its that old chestnut..........


it wont start

got electrics...lights , dash etc.

fuel pumpo primes.

turn key, click and nothing

starter or solenoid?

had a very similar situation and mine was starter itself

most prob the starter have you got a heat shield round the starter motor

sounds like a cooked starter, see if it will bump start.

haven't tried to bump it yet...its a bit far from home Typical


not sure about the starter shield, haven't been able to get under there and have a look


is the starter the same on all the mk 4 models?

would you believe it, went and got it just now


started first time.....

mooo bag


on and off about 8 times, started evry time


my only question is eh?


will the zetec starter bolt straight on, with no probs?

Had the same prob with my Frst turned out to be the earth wire from the battery to the starter being corroded, changed it and it's been fine since.

you mite have a dirty connection it happend to me cleaned it and has been fine for the past 9 mouths
