Default Are EFI CPS's really long??

I offered up my Mondeo CPS that I was using with my old trigger wheel setup, and it's about an inch away from the back of the flywheel?!
If someone has one could they meassure it for me so I know i'm not being stupid and have fitted my CPS holder wrong or something! lol

Cheers!

The holder fits from the inside i.e the flywheel side......and they are fairly long i suppose, don't have mine to hand to measure though lol, i reckon on maybe 50mm long though. And for god sake don't do what i did and put the engine/gearbox in to then realise the holder goes in from the inside and had to take the engine out again

LMAO!!! No way?!
Yeah it's pushed through from the gearbox side, so the CPS fit's in the holder from the block side, just seems like it's going to be really long!?
The mondeo one I have just pokes out the holder about 3mm and so there is a huge gap between that and the flywheel.

This is my Mondy one....

This is a Fiesta RS EFI one from ebay (a user off here too!)....

I spose it does look a bit longer.... well it has to be! lol

hahahaha
No I dont, it's all dangling form the engine crane (see my other thread for pics), just waiting for my brother to have a day off (Monday) to help me lower it into the bay!
Then it's just a bit of wiring, plumbing, fabrication, and i'm there! lol

the gap should be about quarter of an inch at most, won't induce enough if the gap is too much.

also zetec ones use a different holder IIRC due to the lengths being different, or so i've read.
i have both and could pull them out to compare on monday if you really wished.

Cheers, but no need mate, I just wanted to be sure I needed to buy a Fiesta RST/XR2i one thats all, and that I had not put the holder in the wrong way or something!
The gap should be less than 1mm idealy or you risk loosing it at high RPM....... at the moment it's about an inch! lol
