Hello.
What have you for coments of this intercooler? I know its not the best IC for the ERST but is it good for 200 HP?

if your not going to run much more boost than say 14 - 18 psi then i would stick with a double capacity intercooler as it will keep the response from the turbo better than say a fmic. but if you are going to run more boost than that then i would look at changing to a fmic. the pace ones are good and i know several people that were running them on 200bhp+ with no problems, did notice the cooler swell on the ends due to the amount of boost it was pushing through!

Pace double capacity can't cope with anything much above stock boost. I ran one on my old spec at 18psi and it was seriously underperforming. I made 199bhp on the rollers at SCA in Norwich and the operator commented that the ACT's were off the scale. Even running it alongside water injection didn't drop th etemps to an acceptable level. Since fitting the full width Pace I now run the car at 26psi and the ACT's never seem to exceed 40°C unless I'm being an animal on track.
Honestly mate I would recomend you do the job right first time out and fit something like a GRS/Radtec/Pace full width or even an Airtec front mount. There's nothing more annoying than having to pay out a second time because you purchased the wrong kit

From my personal experience they are rubbish.Running 18 psi on track and within 2 mins the ACT was over 70c!!You could feel the power draining away as the Ign was being retarded.Unless you only give youre car the odd blast in Maccie D's carpark I'd keep well away.Total waste of money/time and effort in fitting one. no better than standard at 15psi +, agreed.
fine as a better cooler for upto that though imo- good for about 180/185bhp- felt alot better at 14psi than my standard one ever did so to say its no better is rubbish, its just no substitute for a frount mount at higher pressure.

i agree if your going to run 18psi and above then no way it can't cope but that nearly doubling the boost capacity of a stock intercooler.

stock boost is around 9-10psi, you running 18psi wasn't exactly close to that, if someone who wants to run around 15psi, dont you think a fmic would be an massive overkill?

So no I wouldn't say it was overkill at all, I would say it was buying the right kit to do the job. The small Pace intercooler just doesn't come close to cutting it expecially with the intercoolers that are on the market now. If you buy a Pace half width you can expect to be buying twice.

Wow hold up there Mr Angry. I wasn't trying to make you look like anything at all. All you needed to say is that it's not a 1600cc CVH and that would have settled the matter. Deviating from the CVH kind of undermines your findings of the intercooler. Anyway it doesn't look like I need to make you look a c*nt as you seem to have done quite a good enough job of that on your own by your stroppy response.

am afriad that bollox mate,i ran 214@wheels,over 226@flywheel on 17psi so im sure at 1 psi less id still have made over 226@fly,still on a 1600.boost and power are not related,as you dont know what turbo he runs,16psi on a std turbo yes id say its maybe a bit much but running a stg 3 or even a t34 16psi will piss 220bhp in a zillion years never mind a million
