EFi Running problems
Hi,
I have got a S1 RST that is running OFAB management, however I have a few problems.
If the ISCV is plugged in it starts fine but idles around 2500rpm, if I unplug it it idles around 1200rpm, but is a pig to start.
If the map sensor is plugged in, the car will run for around 2-3 seconds then stall, I can hold it on the pedal but it misfires and over fuels excessively. However if I unplug it, it runs alot better, but still not right. First I thought the map sensor was faulty, so I brought a new one, but it hasn't made any difference.
I've checked all the earths etc and all seems fine, but running out of things to check now.
Has anyone had a this problem? or any ideas on what to check?
Thanks

clean the iscv up 1st wat are your injectors like ? wats the vacume pipe from the map like not sure wat else i had every problem going with mine but i was on ofac hope this helps
injectors have been refurbished, but I have another set of standard blues I can try, there's no leaks and i have voltage on all 4 injectors. Vacuum pipe is brand new samco hosing. I have just restored the car so pretty much everything is new, apart from the management which came from another car.

have you followed the setup procedure for idle in somewhere like the haynes manual?
I've had to do mine a few times to get it right but its ok now.
without the iscv the idle should be alot lower than 1200, in fact in some cases it will be almost too low but the car should just run @ 600/700rpm.
once you plug the iscv back in the idle should fluctuate a bit then re-learn and settle at approx 900/1000rpm.
there is a set procedure to re-learn/reset the idle and it does help alot with the car idling form cold/hot and regaining idle when pulling up to junctions etc.
