Default GRP A coil fitting

I've had my coil fitted for a couple of years now however over the millions of posts with regards to this type of coil i've seen people mention different ways they've wired theres up.

I simply cut the old connectors, fitted spades and away i went.
However some people have said they relay'd theres for more power(voltage not HP) at higher rpm and others have said they re-wired it via the battery for a fresher (not 20yr old) feed.

Is there any 'real' benifit to doing either of the above or is just fitting it as i have done adequate?

Hi,
Pop a multimeter on the coil live and earth it to chassis, extend wires into car and give to a passenger then go for a run, if you have less than around 13volts at high revs on boost then its worth rewiring it, however, if that is the case, check you have the voltage at the battery itself before presuming its old coil wiring causing your problems.
