The L6 is a good quality product, but limited in features and not many people can map it.

Megasquirt can be poorly made, but is very easy to map and fully featured.

Why not something like an Mtech V4 that does both? well made, fully featured, and wont cost the earth.

cosworth management will be spot on fella, i bet it won't actually cost a fortune and will give really good power.
having said that, i'm using the latest version of megasquirt and i love it, easy to map once you figure it all out lol!
the thing is, is that it's cheaper to buy and fit, but because no fooker wants to map it, you have to do it yourself, so costs you a load in fuel to get it close, and ideally you need rollers to get it spot on.

ive gone to mtec for my v4 ecu, i did months of reseach speaking to loads of tuners. I narrowed the selection of tuners down to a few and not one of them have refused to map the v4 software after viewing it, but they have said not to other well known makes. I think the main important mapping principles are the same but the interfaces in which you manipulate them alter between different management makes, with the v4 software it is able to have the interace fully customised to the mappers exact spec. What more could you want

I think im having Simon at Sitech do the final mapping on my car, Matt at Mtechoffered kindly to do it but it may be a bit far from myself, plus im hoping for a passenger ride in mr Smails new project

hope this helps

raj

Hello Matt you grease monkey,

Im sworn to secrecy

at the mo I think its on Haltec, ive been chatting to him about the v4, he has yet to have a play with it but is impressed with what it says it can do, got some good plans for it and on my car as he will do the final mapping (got some secret tricks if you know what I mean), he mentioned he is very interested to have a play especially with the additional feature you only get with ecus at the other end of the spectrum i.e. silly money items

Any progress with the monitor and fitpc?

raj, you dirty flocker!

Ah I thought as much, crafty, looking forward to the results!

Dash wise, we are actually looking at a carbon fibre dash system and housing it all in one 'pack'

Will keep you posted
